It’s now day 3 on mission in Belize! This experience has touched everyone’s heart in a multitude of ways. God has been so present in every interaction, activity and project our team has had so far. Personally, I’ve been able to see my team members let their individual gifts shine which has been so encouraging. God has truly used every person to make an impact on His kingdom.

Something that has been on my heart for this trip is the idea of God’s people as vessels for His Spirit. Apart from Him, we serve no good purpose, but a life fully surrendered to His transformative and wonderful Spirit is one that glorifies God. We’re able to do great things for the kingdom because we are vessels of the Holy Spirit! I’ve been praying for God to open my eyes to see when He moves and He has answered that prayer.

Yesterday, we dug the foundation of a new church being built. The digging was hard work. I, and many others, woke up very sore today. I just view that as a job well done :)

To some of us, at first the digging felt insignificant. As we kept going though, I truly believe God was working in our hearts, helping us understand how impactful it truly is. We are literally building the foundation of the Church. Here soon, people from this community in Belize will be here to experience God and hear about Christ’s overflowing love for them. Here, people will come together in fellowship, gathering to pray over each other and for the community. Here, the enemy trembles and has no power, because God’s people are coming together to be empowered through His Spirit. When the saints come together, they will be able to comprehend the vastness of God’s love for them. This church is going to be a powerful place.

I encourage all you readers to keep praying for this new church. Pray for Pastor Catarino and his family, and for every person who comes. Pray that each member may experience the one and true God.

Today, we poured the concrete in the foundation we dug yesterday. We used water drawn from a well, and a small concrete mixer to manually fill the dug outs. Today was much more labor intensive compared to yesterday, but everyone put in the same amount of effort as we did in previous days. I have seen the Lord provide a great joy in every one of us to serve and put in the hard work which is truly a blessing. After pouring concrete, we got to spend time with the kids from the Mayan community. The team either played soccer (football) or volleyball, or did crafts in the shade.

Thank you for your prayers as E91 is in Belize. Keep praying for safety and a joyful heart ready to serve in each team member.

Love you all!
