BLOG 2: Davinna Beale
We were challenged on the last serving day at Haus Edelweiss to return to our homeland with fresh eyes.
To use “Prayer Cast” website to pray for various nations and people.
To look at the people God has put in front of us and show His love to them in radical ways. Mark 12:30 has been a motivator of this for me for years and our devotion just reinforced that mindset.
I often ask God to show me “who and how” to share His good news. At least quarterly I take time to write down who God is bringing into my circle. On this trip, Lectio 365 talked about a man put into prison for his faith. This man took on the attitude that God needed him to minister in that place. So he began praying for inmates and even the prison warden who ran the prison. Upon his release from prison the warden told him that one night he had passed this prisoners cell and heard him quietly praying for him. It was a powerful witness that never would have happened if the man in prison hadn’t seen his circumstances as an assignment.
So I am examining my two jobs more as God’s assignment rather than just seeing things related to church, Bible club and neighborhood as God’s assignment. I also talked with another short term worker asking for prayers of revival for her church which happens to be in eastern Indiana. I’m hopeful we can stay connected so I can offer prayers but also real time encouragement or even periodical support to moms in her church. We all go to Mahoning Valley Christian Camp and may be able to rally together at the Ladies Retreat and etc. Hopefully these fresh eyes will help me be more in tune with what God is doing in my homeland.
I want to see some of the amazing and transformative things God is doing in people’s lives.
